Identify the original system and its condition before planning maintenance, restoration or replacement of an older deck.

Desert Crete is a complete decking system

Desert Brand describes Desert Crete as a system for exterior plywood walkways, balconies and roof decks, with several decorative finish options. The visible texture alone does not identify the complete assembly or establish its condition.

Desert Flex addresses restoration conditions

Desert Brand describes Desert Flex as a restoration system for appropriate existing deck systems with a sound substrate and for listed concrete applications. Restoration suitability still depends on the condition of the surface and the manufacturer's specification.

Keep the old system name with the repair records

If these names appear in a previous proposal, share that paperwork along with installation dates, recoat records and photographs. Our team can evaluate the existing waterproofing condition and discuss an appropriate repair or replacement scope. The original manufacturer name should not be replaced in the records with the name of a different coating brand.

Do not select a new topcoat by color alone. Existing adhesion, moisture, concealed damage and compatibility determine whether maintenance is appropriate or additional removal is needed.

Use the documents for the actual project

Warranty duration, maintenance intervals and any assembly ratings must be confirmed from the applicable product documents and written project agreement. A general description of an older system does not establish coverage for a particular deck or for a replacement system.
