This policy covers information collected through this website and related estimate and project communications. Questions or privacy requests? Email contact@californiadecking.com or call (800) 482-6334.
1. Information we collect
- Contact and project details: your name, email, phone number, property city or ZIP code, service requested, property type, project description and preferred contact method. You may provide a property address or other details during follow-up.
- Files and communications: photos, plans, inspection reports and other files you choose to submit, together with related messages and request records. We also keep the request source, submission time and contact-consent record.
- Job applications: your name, contact information, city, work interests, experience, availability, introduction and optional résumé. We use this information to review work opportunities and contact you about your application. Applications and résumés are available to authorized staff; they are not published on the website.
- Technical information: our hosting providers may process information such as your IP address, browser, device, requested pages and request times to deliver, operate and protect the website. Such information may be personal information, even when it does not include your name.
Submit only project information you are authorized to share. Remove unrelated resident details, financial account information, Social Security numbers and other unnecessary sensitive information from reports and photos. Our inquiry form does not request payment details.
2. How we use information
We use information to review your request, answer questions, prepare estimates, arrange site visits, communicate about work and maintain project and customer-service records. We may also use it to troubleshoot the website, prevent misuse, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes.
Submitting an estimate request or project question does not subscribe you to promotional messages. Any promotional communications require a separate appropriate permission, and you can opt out using the instructions in the message or by contacting us.
3. When information is shared
We may disclose information to providers that support website hosting, data and file storage, business communications and the services you request. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, in response to valid legal requests, or as necessary to protect rights and safety. Optional chat and advertising providers may also process information as described below.
We do not exchange your inquiry details for payment. Optional advertising technologies may involve sharing browser or activity information for advertising purposes. You can reject these technologies through Privacy choices. SMS consent and phone numbers are not shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. This does not prevent a communications provider from processing information to deliver messages on our behalf.
Uploading project photos or reports through the inquiry form does not give us permission to publish them as marketing material.
4. Cookies and website tracking
Essential cookies: our hosting provider uses security cookies, including Cloudflare’s bot-protection cookie, to deliver and protect the website. We store your privacy choice in your browser for up to 180 days.
Optional ReachLocal services: if you select Accept optional, we load ReachLocal/LocaliQ’s supplied script. It provides live chat and can measure visits, calls, form activity and advertising conversions. Its configuration also includes advertising and remarketing integrations for providers such as Google, Meta and Microsoft. These services may process your IP address, device and browser information, referral source, page activity, and information you provide through chat or forms, and may use cookies or similar technologies.
Optional Google Analytics: if you select Accept optional, we also load Google Analytics to measure website usage, including page views and interactions. Google may process browser, device, referral and page-activity information and use cookies. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, phone numbers or submitted form contents to Google Analytics.
We do not load Google Analytics or the optional ReachLocal script on the careers application page or private staff pages.
ReachLocal may replace displayed phone numbers with forwarding numbers to attribute calls to a traffic source. The exact tracking and advertising behavior depends on ReachLocal’s configuration. Chat messages and contact details are processed by its chat service to respond to your inquiry.
Your choice: optional services are not loaded before acceptance. Select Reject optional to continue with essential functions only. Live chat is bundled with tracking in the supplied script, so declining disables that chat; our phone links and estimate form remain available. Use the Privacy choices button to change your selection at any time. Withdrawing acceptance reloads the page to stop the optional script. It does not undo information already sent or remove cookies held by third-party services; you can clear cookies through your browser.
When your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we do not load Google Analytics or the optional ReachLocal script, even if you previously accepted. Other browser Do Not Track signals are not treated as a separate setting. Blocking essential cookies may affect website features.
5. Phone, email and text messages
Our form asks how you prefer to be contacted about your request. Choosing Text and giving contact consent permits request-related messages, such as answers to your questions, appointment coordination and project updates. You can choose Phone or Email instead; agreeing to texts is not a condition of purchasing services.
If you receive text messages, message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to the sending number to opt out, or HELP for assistance. You can also contact contact@californiadecking.com or (800) 482-6334 for help or to change your contact preference. These request-related permissions are not consent to unrelated marketing messages.
6. Retention and security
We retain information as reasonably needed for the purposes described here. The appropriate period depends on the information, whether a request becomes a project, relevant project or warranty records, and legal or dispute-resolution obligations. You can ask us about your records or request deletion using the contact details below; some records may need to be retained.
We use safeguards designed to protect information, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is not needed for your project.
7. Your choices and California privacy rights
You may contact us to request access to, correction of or deletion of your information, or to update communication preferences. Email or call us using the details below and describe your request. We may need to verify your identity before disclosing or changing records; please do not send identity documents unless requested through an appropriate process.
Where applicable law provides additional rights, these may include knowing how information is collected and disclosed, opting out of sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, and limiting certain uses of sensitive personal information. An authorized agent may make an applicable request on your behalf. We will handle requests subject to applicable law and its exceptions, without unlawful discrimination for exercising a privacy right. The California Attorney General’s privacy information explains these rights in more detail.
8. External links and children
Manufacturer color charts, maps and other external links take you to services with their own privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information. This policy does not govern those separate websites.
Our services and website are intended for adults arranging property-related work, not children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so we can review and address it.
9. Updates to this policy
We will post changes on this page and update the effective date above. For material changes, we will provide a prominent website notice or other notice as required by law. Please review this page when you submit information.
